Maliza Kiasuwa

Maliza Kiasuwa is a visual artist whose work explores the fragile coexistence between the human world and the natural world. Through abstract forms inspired by organic structures and animal life, she investigates the transformations of nature shaped by human activity, imagining futures of the living that are both poetic and sometimes dystopian.

Her practice combines collage with sculptural approaches, using materials that evoke both fragility and resilience. Her work has been presented in numerous international exhibitions and art events, including AKAA (Also Known As Africa), the Congo Biennale, the Strasbourg Art Fair, and PRISM Art Fair. She has exhibited in Kenya, Uganda, the United Kingdom, Belgium, the United States, Switzerland, and France.

Working with fragile and organic materials, the artist creates forms that occupy space. Clothing and sculptures become extensions of the body — sensitive presences that assert the right to exist fully.
